At least 13 people were killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes, including those living in tents for displaced Palestinians, according to Gaza's civil defence agency.
Among the victims were four members of the Shurafa family in eastern Gaza City, who died when an Israeli missile hit their home. In Khan Yunis, three people were killed and several others wounded when a missile struck a tent sheltering displaced families.
Another airstrike in Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, killed at least four people in a tent. Two more fatalities were reported in separate incidents.
The Israeli military confirmed that its forces continued their land and air operations in northern Gaza, where the assault has been ongoing since October 6.
Israel’s objective, according to the military, is to prevent Hamas militants from regrouping in the region. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported killing dozens of militants in the Jabalia area through both ground and aerial strikes. Several others were also killed in central Gaza and southern Gaza near Rafa.
