China on Tuesday, October 22 announced it had resolved with India all border issues.
"Recently, China and India have maintained close communication through diplomatic and military channels on issues relating to the China-India border. Currently, the two sides have reached a resolution on the relevant issues," said foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian during a press briefing.
China and India have a history of rivalry and frequent accusations of territorial encroachment along their unofficial boundary, the Line of Actual Control.
Following a deadly border clash in 2020, which resulted in the deaths of at least 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers, both nations withdrew tens of thousands of troops and agreed to halt patrols in the contested area.
However, the new development shows the two countries will work hand-in-hand to implement new policies, AFP reports.
"In the next stage, we will work with India to properly implement that resolution," Lin added.
